Shenyang University of Chemical Technology Successfully Holds Its Seventh Student Congress and Seventh Graduate Student Congress

On December 14, the Seventh Student Congress and Seventh Graduate Student Congress of Shenyang University of Chemical Technology were held in the university’s academic lecture hall. Attendees included Wang Ying, Deputy Party Secretary of the university; Sun Yunqiu, Executive Chairperson of the Shenyang Municipal Student Union; Yang Haixia, Director of the Department of Graduate Students Affairs Party Committee; Zhan Shen, Secretary of the University Chinese Communist Youth League Committee; Wang Huan, Deputy Director of the Student Working Department of the Party Committee; deputy Party secretaries and Chinese Communist Youth League Committee secretaries from various schools, representatives of graduate student advisors, representatives of student union organizations from peer institutions, heads of organizations directly under the University Chinese Communist Youth League Committee, as well as all undergraduate and graduate student representatives. The congress commenced with the solemn singing of the national anthem.

At the congress, Sun Yunqiu, on behalf of the Municipal Student Union, extended warm congratulations on the convening of the event. He highly commended the significant achievements of the university's Student Union and Graduate Student Union in ideological guidance, practical education, and campus culture development, and praised the sense of responsibility demonstrated by Shenyang University of Chemical Technology students in innovation and entrepreneurship, volunteer services, and regional revitalization efforts. He expressed hope that all young students at the university would build on the fertile ground of the campus, contribute to the university’s development through practical actions, root themselves in the Liaoning-Shenyang region, serve the revitalization and development of Liaoning with a sense of responsibility, and strive to contribute to the nation's prosperity, offering youthful strength in the grand journey of national rejuvenation.

Li Jiajun from the School of Chemical Engineering and Chu Qi from the School of Mechanical and Power Engineering presented work reports on behalf of the previous Student Union Committee and Graduate Student Union Committee, respectively. The reports reviewed the achievements of the previous Student Union and Graduate Student Union, summarized the experiences and shortcomings of the past year, and clarified the direction for future work.

In her speech, Wang Ying, on behalf of the university Party Committee, extended warm congratulations on the successful convening of the congress, conveyed cordial greetings to the attending guests, all representatives, and the entire student body, and fully affirmed the work of the Student Union and Graduate Student Union over the past year. She put forward three hopes for all young students of the university: first, to solidify the foundation of faith, set a clear direction for youth by “Aspiring high and dedicating themselves to serving the nation”, integrating personal ideals into the broader context of national development and university construction; second, to foster a spirit of perseverance, demonstrate youthful initiative by “Tackling challenges and forging ahead with determination”, practicing the educational philosophy of “Five Identities and Four Loves” and cultivating a rigorous and pragmatic work style; third, to hone strong capabilities, accumulate youthful strength through “Diligent study and hands-on practice”, solidifying academic foundations and actively engaging in practical training. She expressed hope that the University Youth League Committee would continue to strengthen its guidance to student union organizations, building a politically reliable, academically excellent, service-oriented, and vibrant Student Union to inject youthful energy into the university’s development and the comprehensive revitalization of Liaoning.

The congress reviewed and approved the work reports of the previous Student Union and Graduate Student Union. Through anonymous voting, it elected the members of the Seventh Student Union Committee and Seventh Graduate Student Union Committee, as well as the presidium members of the Seventh Student Union and Graduate Student Union.

This congress fostered consensus, charted a blueprint for the future, and inspired motivation, injecting strong momentum into the sustained development of the university’s student union organizations. The newly elected Student Union and Graduate Student Union will seize this opportunity to carry forward fine traditions, bravely shoulder the mission of the times, unite and lead all students of Shenyang University of Chemical Technology to hone their skills through diligent study and practice, demonstrate youthful responsibility through dedicated efforts, and write an even more splendid chapter of youth in the pursuit of building the university into a strong regional institution, contributing to the revitalization and development of Liaoning, and realizing the Chinese Dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
