Good News! SYUCT Achieves Outstanding Results in the 4th China Graduate Students Dual Carbon Innovation and Creativity Competition

From November 7th to 9th, the national finals of the “Shenhua Baite Cup” 4th China Graduate Students “Dual Carbon” Innovation and Creativity Competition were successfully held at Shenyang University of Chemical Technology. The competition was guided by the Department of Degree Management and Graduate Education of the Ministry of Education, organized by the Chinese Society of Academic Degrees and Graduate Education and the Youth Science and Technology Center of the China Association for Science and Technology, hosted by Shenyang University of Chemical Technology, and co-hosted by Dandong Baite Instruments Ltd. The participating teams from Shenyang University of Chemical Technology delivered exceptional performances, securing 3 national first prizes, 2 second prizes, and 7 third prizes. Among them, the project titled “Waste Control via Waste – A New Denitrification Technology for Organic Waste Liquid Based on Reaction Reconstruction” by the “Carbon Reduction Pioneer Team” achieved an impressive third-place finish in the “Dual Carbon Star” evaluation finals. Both the level and number of awards set a new historical record for the university. The detailed list of awards is as follows:

Our university has always placed great emphasis on graduate students’ innovation and entrepreneurship. This year’s competition received strong support from relevant functional departments. With extensive mobilization and active participation from various secondary colleges, a total of 216 projects were submitted, involving over 1,300 students and more than 300 faculty advisors. This fully demonstrated the innovative vitality and sense of mission of our graduate students in the “dual carbon” field. Meanwhile, the Graduate School and the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship meticulously organized the preliminary and final rounds of the university-level competition. They also invited field experts to provide in-depth guidance and refinement for key seed projects, laying a solid foundation for the university’s outstanding performance in the national finals.

Moving forward, the university will continue to focus on the national “dual carbon” strategic goals. Building on the momentum of hosting this competition, we will deepen interdisciplinary integration, enhance the quality of graduate student training, and strengthen the transformation of scientific and technological achievements. This will further empower SYUCT to cultivate more interdisciplinary, low-carbon, innovative, and research-oriented talents, contributing to green and high-quality development. Additionally, we hope that in future graduate student competitions, all faculty and students will maintain their enthusiasm and passion, continuously increasing the number of participating projects, award-winning projects, and the level of awards, thereby advancing the cultivation of innovation capabilities among our graduate students and the development of graduate education at our university.
