“Shenhua Baite Cup” The 4th China Postgraduate “Dual Carbon” Innovation and Creativity Competition Finals Held at Shenyang University of Chemical Technology

On November 7, the finals of the “Shenhua Baite Cup” 4th China Postgraduate “Dual Carbon” Innovation and Creativity Competition kicked off at Shenyang University of Chemical Technology (SYUCT). Guided by the Department of Degree Management and Graduate Education of the Ministry of Education, the competition was sponsored by the Chinese Society of Academic Degrees and Graduate Education and the China Association for Science and Technology Youth Science and Technology Center, hosted by SYUCT, and co-hosted by Dandong Baite Instruments Co., Ltd. A total of 4,639 teams from 377 universities and research institutes across the country, involving nearly 26,000 teachers and students, participated in the competition. After the preliminary selection, 371 teams qualified for the finals, with all indicators reaching a new high in the competition’s history.

Attending the opening ceremony were Zhao Yu, Deputy Secretary-General of the Chinese Society of Academic Degrees and Graduate Education; Chen Yu, Leader of the Competition Supervision Group; Kong Feng, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director of the Department of Education of Liaoning Province; Shi Hongbo, Deputy Secretary of the Communist Youth League Liaoning Provincial Committee; Yan Dong, Member of the Standing Committee of the Organization Department of Shenyang Municipal Party Committee; Liu Dongqing, Director of the Department of Degree Management and Graduate Education of the Department of Education of Liaoning Province; Dong Qingyun, Chairman of Dandong Baite Instruments Co., Ltd.; Chen Yongmin, Chairman of Liaoning Carbon Emission Rights Trading Center; Zhao Ziming, Regional Sales Director of Anhui Keda Clean Energy Co., Ltd.; Liu Zhonglan, Deputy General Manager of Dandong Baite Instruments Co., Ltd.; Wang Jun, Vice President and Director of Human Resources of Liaoning Oxiran Chemical Group; as well as leading members of SYUCT including Zhou Zhiqiang, Qin Gaowu, Wang Ying, Yang Xueyin, Wang Guogang, Wang Shurong, and Yu Sansan.

At the opening ceremony, Qin Gaowu delivered a welcome speech on behalf of SYUCT. He stated that since its establishment, the China Postgraduate “Dual Carbon” Innovation and Creativity Competition has built an innovative display platform, academic exchange platform, and achievement transformation platform for postgraduates across the country to serve the “Dual Carbon” strategy, and has become an important brand event leading postgraduates to engage in green development. He hoped that brother universities, research institutes, and enterprises would take the competition as a link to deepen industry-university-research-application collaboration, jointly build an innovative ecological chain of “basic research + technological breakthroughs + achievement transformation,” and promote more “Dual Carbon” innovative achievements from laboratories to the industrial sector.

Dong Qingyun introduced the company’s development and technological innovation. He said that Dandong Baite Instruments Co., Ltd. will fulfill its social responsibility by participating in and supporting the “Dual Carbon” competition, and hoped that the participating students would show their best performance and achieve excellent results. He also wished the competition a complete success.

Yan Dong gave a presentation on Shenyang’s talent policies. He detailed the latest talent policies of Shenyang to the participating teachers and students from all over the country, and expressed sincere expectations and support for young talents.

Su Jiayi, a student from Northwestern Polytechnical University, and Li Li, a teacher from SYUCT, took oaths on behalf of participating students and teachers respectively.

In his speech, Kong Feng pointed out that the Department of Education of Liaoning Province has continuously deepened educational reform, strived to build an integrated practice platform for education, science and technology, and talents, integrated innovative education into the entire process of talent training, and continuously cultivated new quality productive forces and developed new momentum. He hoped that the participating students would keep in mind the country’s major issues and be responsible for green transformation; adhere to the unity of knowledge and practice and be creators of new quality productive forces; and dare to innovate and be leaders of the innovation wave.

Zhao Yu stated in her speech that the China Postgraduate “Dual Carbon” Innovation and Creativity Competition aims to serve the national “Dual Carbon” strategy, guide postgraduates to actively participate in “Dual Carbon” practices, and help cultivate top-notch innovative talents in the “Dual Carbon” field. She encouraged the participating students to stay in Shenyang for innovation and entrepreneurship in the future, and write a youth chapter of revitalizing Northeast China and building a beautiful China with their wisdom and efforts.

Leaders and guests jointly pressed the launch button, and the finals of the 4th China Postgraduate “Dual Carbon” Innovation and Creativity Competition officially began.
