The University’s Cultural and Creative Works Debut at the 22nd Shenyang International Home Furnishing Expo

During the summer vacation, our university’s cultural and creative works made their debut at the 22nd Shenyang International Home Furnishing Expo. As a large-scale and influential grand event in the home furnishing industry in Northeast China, this expo attracted extensive attention. As a provincial university with engineering as its main focus and coordinated development of multiple disciplines, our university focused on displaying cultural and creative products as well as achievements in industry-university-research cooperation. A number of works from the School of Humanities and Arts and the University Science and Technology Park were exhibited.

This exhibition featured a series of independently designed cultural and creative products by students, covering various categories such as cultural merch and practical home furnishing items. These works attracted many visitors to stop and communicate, and some of them have received intentions of cooperation from enterprises. On-site, the university also introduced its discipline construction and talent cultivation progress through display boards and videos. Meanwhile, Professor Zhang Na from our university was invited to give a keynote speech titled From Demand to Implementation: Smart Elderly Care Products Empowering the Development of the Silver Economy at the expo forum. Combining teaching practice with industry trends, her speech received positive responses from experts and enterprise representatives.

Through this participation in the expo, the university has reached preliminary cooperation intentions with a number of enterprises. This not only provides channels for students’ innovation and entrepreneurship as well as the transformation of achievements, but also further expands the university’s social influence, promoting in-depth integration of industry-university-research and connection of university-enterprise resources.
