Our University Has Been Awarded 2 Items, among the First Batch Nationwide

Recently, the Department of International Cooperation and Exchange of the Ministry of Education announced the results of the first batch nationwide excellent courses on national conditions education for international students studying in China and social practice activity bases for Chinese and foreign teenagers. After being applied by our university and recommended by the Education Department of Liaoning Province, the course “An Introduction to China” offered by the International Education School has been approved as an “Excellent Course on National Conditions Education for International Students”, and the university’s Education Center of Serving the Country with Chemical Engineering and New Era Lei Feng Spirit has been approved as a “Social Practice Activity Base for Chinese and Foreign Teenagers”, respectively becoming one of the first batch of 111 courses and 115 bases nationwide.

As a brand course of the International Education School, the course “An Introduction to China” has always adhered to the construction concept of “telling Chinese stories well”. Adopting the “cultural immersion” teaching mode, it integrates China’s national conditions, Chinese culture, and China’s development achievements into the whole process of classroom teaching. With fruitful teaching achievements, it has formed a complete educational chain of “classroom teaching - cultural experience - social practice”, making important contributions to cultivating international students studying in China who understand, befriend, and love China.

Education Center of Serving the Country with Chemical Engineering and the New Era Lei Feng Spirit relies on the “Founding Place of PRC’s Industry and the Birthplace of the Lei Feng Spirit” among “the six red places” in Liaoning. It deeply explores the connotations of the Lei Feng Spirit in the new era, integrates the deeds of outstanding figures in the development of modern and contemporary Chinese chemical industry and the university’s glorious tradition of “serving the country with chemical engineering” and other resources, and focuses on creating a characteristic platform for cultural education and cultural exchange services.

In this selection, a total of 4 courses and 4 bases in Liaoning Province were awarded. The selection of one course and one base of our university is one of the important achievements of the university’s efforts to promote international education and cultural exchanges in recent years. Taking this selection as an opportunity, the university will further focus on promoting excellent traditional Chinese culture, tell Chinese stories well, spread China’s voice well, and contribute the strength of our university to improving the level of education opening up in Liaoning Province.
