The Chemical Engineering and Technology discipline of Shenyang University of Chemical Technology is the “double first-class” construction discipline of Liaoning Province. It was granted the right to grant master’s degree in 1993. It was listed as the key discipline of the former Ministry of Chemical Industry in 1995, the key discipline of Liaoning Province in 2002, and the first-class characteristic discipline construction plan of Liaoning Province in 2013. In 2016, it was listed as the first batch of “double first-class” construction disciplines in Liaoning Province, and it was approved as a doctoral authorization point in 2021. There are 108 teachers, including 34 professors (including 1 foreigner) and 46 associate professors. Including foreign academicians of the Royal College of Technology, distinguished professors of Changjiang Scholars, National Distinguished Young, Chief of “973”, experts enjoying special government subsidies of the State Council, excellent experts of Liaoning Province, scientific and technological leaders of “Xingliao Talent Plan”, and distinguished professors of Liaoning Province. It has 1 national Huang Danian teachers team, 4 innovation teams of colleges and universities in Liaoning Province, and 1 subject innovation and intellectual introduction base of colleges and universities (111 intellectual introduction). There are 16 national and provincial key laboratories and engineering centers, such as the national and local borax and magnesium joint engineering laboratory, the key Laboratory of the Ministry of Education for Resources, Chemicals and Materials, and the Provincial and Ministerial Collaborative Innovation Center. In the past five years, it has undertaken dozens of projects such as key funds of the National Natural Science Foundation, key research and development projects of the National Natural Science Foundation, and scientific research funds of nearly 200 million yuan; Won 7 provincial and ministerial first prizes; It has trained more than 10 national and provincial leading talents such as foreign academicians of the British Royal Academy of Engineering, fellows of the Chinese Chemical Industry Society, winners of the Hou Debang Chemical Science and Technology Award Achievement Award, science and technology leaders of the “Xingliao Talent Plan”, and provincial excellent experts.

The first-level doctoral program of Chemical Engineering and Technology includes many second-level disciplines such as Chemical Technology, Chemical Engineering, Applied Chemistry and Industrial Catalysis. Research interests include new technology of resource refinement utilization, new technology of green and clean transformation of energy, preparation and application of advanced functional materials, electrochemical energy storage, chemical process optimization and safety, membrane separation technology and new energy technology, clean preparation technology of fine chemical industry, synthesis of active molecules of medicine and green pesticides, new catalytic reactions and catalytic reaction engineering, photoelectric catalytic materials and applications, etc.
