This list comprises two major categories: the “Career-long Impact Ranking” and the “Single-year Impact Ranking”. Across China, 12,374 scholars from domestic universities made the Career-long Impact Ranking, while 31,685 were included in the Single-year Impact Ranking. From our university, four scholars were named in the Career-long Impact Ranking: Xu Guangwen, Qin Gaowu, Wang Shurong, and Su Fabing. Additionally, 11 scholars from our university secured spots in the “2025 Single-year Impact Ranking”, including Xu Guangwen, Qin Gaowu, Wang Shurong, Su Fabing, Wang Na, Zhang Xuejun, Gao Shuzhi, Chen Xi, Wu Shuangyan, Zheng Peng, and Niu Ping. Compared with previous years, the increased number of our scholars on the list signals a significant enhancement of our university’s research strength. The World’s Top 2% Scientists list, co-released by Stanford University and international academic publisher Elsevier, evaluates researchers’ scientific impact based on Scopus citation data. It employs six composite metrics, including total citations (differentiating self-citations from others’), H-index, and HM factor. Covering nearly 7 million scientists worldwide, the list selects the top 2% of scholars, categorized across 22 major disciplines and 174-176 subfields. Regarded as an objective indicator of scientists’ long-term research performance and academic influence, inclusion in the list signifies that the scholar holds substantial global impact in their respective field.
