Shenyang University of Chemical Technology Held the First Quarter 2026 Research Work Meeting

On the morning of January 15, the university held the First Quarter 2026 Research Work Meeting. Qin Gaowu, Deputy Secretary of the University Party Committee and Vice President, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Deans (Directors) of various colleges (research institutes) and associate deans (deputy directors) in charge of research work attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by Xie Yingpeng, Director of the Office of Science and Technology Research.

At the meeting, Xie Yingpeng presented a summary report on the university’s research work in 2025 and explained the arrangements for research work during the winter vacation. Subsequently, the participants engaged in in-depth discussions regarding the achievements and existing problems in research work in 2025, as well as the research work plan and key tasks for 2026. During the exchanges, Qin Gaowu put forward specific guiding opinions for the next phase of research work, taking into account the actual situations of each unit.

In his concluding remarks, Qin Gaowu pointed out that in 2025, the university’s research personnel worked unitedly and forged ahead with determination, successfully completing the annual key research tasks and providing solid support for the university’s high-quality development. He emphasized that 2026 is the inaugural year for implementing the national “15th Five-Year Plan” and also a critical period for promoting high-level technological self-reliance and accelerating the development of new quality productive forces. Currently, the permeating, diffusive, and disruptive characteristics of technological development are becoming increasingly prominent. The pace of transforming scientific and technological achievements into industrial applications continues to accelerate. Digital technology, artificial intelligence, and other innovations are reshaping the landscape of industrial development. Facing this new situation, we must firmly establish a crisis mentality that “to not advance is to fall behind, and even to advance slowly is to retreat.” We must proactively seize the opportunities presented by technological and industrial transformation, actively deploy in emerging fields and cutting-edge tracks, continuously deepen industry-university-research cooperation with enterprises, persistently enhance the university’s scientific research innovation capability and its contribution to social service, thereby injecting new and powerful momentum into the high-quality development of the university’s endeavors.
