Two disciplines have been selected for the new round of “Double First Class” construction disciplines in Liaoning Province

Recently, Liaoning Province officially announced the list of disciplines for the new round of Double First Class construction, with our universitys two disciplines (Chemical Engineering and Technology and Materials Science and Engineering) selected. Chemical Engineering and Technology has been selected as a domestic first-class discipline construction object, and Materials Science and Engineering has been selected as a provincial advantageous characteristic discipline construction object, achieving a double breakthrough in the quality and quantity of our universitys double first-class construction disciplines. This is another major landmark achievement of our universitys discipline construction in 2024, following the addition of a doctoral program in Materials and Chemical Engineering and the entry of Materials Science into the top 1% of ESI global rankings.

SYUCT will take the new round of Double First Class construction in Liaoning Province as an opportunity to further deepen the connotation construction of disciplines, continuously optimize the layout of disciplines, actively promote interdisciplinary integration, adhere to serving the national strategy, strengthen talent cultivation and technological innovation, create a discipline cluster with distinctive industry advantages and industrial service support capabilities, promote the integrated development of education, science and technology, and talent, and empower new quality productivity and new industrialization, serving the comprehensive revitalization of Liaoning and the high-quality development of the industry.
