Management Science and Engineering (Master)

The first-level discipline of Management Science and Engineering was granted the right to confer master's degrees in 2010. Relying on the accumulated foundation of the management discipline and science and engineering disciplines in our university, this degree program is based on management, economics, mathematics, control science and engineering, computer application technology, etc. It uses modern natural sciences and technical sciences, especially modern mathematics, operations research, computers and information technology, etc. to conduct scientific quantitative analysis and prediction on the complex and dynamic processes in enterprise management. The three training directions of risk management and decision optimization, safety and emergency management, and science and technology education and innovation management have the characteristics of comprehensiveness and interdisciplinarity.

The degree program has a teaching staff team with a reasonable structure, strong strength, and differentiated research directions. There are 29 full-time teachers in this degree program, among whom 19 have doctoral degrees (accounting for 65.5%). In the past five years, it has presided over 1 project of the National Social Science Fund, 1 general project of the National Natural Science Fund, 1 project of the Humanities and Social Sciences of the Ministry of Education, 5 projects of the integration of industry and education of the Ministry of Education, and 1 youth exchange project of the Ministry of Science and Technology; it has completed more than 50 provincial and ministerial level vertical and horizontal projects of the Provincial Department of Science and Technology, the Provincial Social Science Fund, the Provincial Department of Education, the Provincial Department of Finance, the Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security, etc., and the total funding for various projects is about 3 million yuan. In the past five years, the teachers and students of this degree program have jointly published more than 20 papers in various high-level retrieval journals, and there are 8 advisory achievements that have been commented on by leaders at the deputy provincial level or above. All master's students have participated in the scientific research projects of their supervisors, and the master's students of Management Science and Engineering have independently published nearly 40 academic papers. It has won 1 special prize and 1 second prize of the Liaoning Provincial Graduate Teaching Achievement Award, and 2 second prizes and 1 third prize of the Liaoning Provincial Philosophy and Social Science Award. The discipline highlights the characteristics of service and application, provides theoretical guidance and management connotations for the revitalization of the old industrial base in Northeast China, and also takes into account high-level research breakthroughs.
