Oil-Gas Storage and Transportation Engineering (Bachelor)

Oil-Gas Storage and Transportation Engineering major at Shenyang University of Chemical Technology was established in 2002 in response to the national energy development strategy and the demand for professionals in the oil and gas storage and transportation field in Liaoning Province's industrial upgrading. After more than 20 years of construction and development, a complete talent training system and distinctive professional characteristics have been formed. In 2020, it was approved as a first-class undergraduate major construction site in Liaoning Province.

This major cultivates engineering and technical talents who have mastered and can effectively apply basic knowledge of disciplines such as petroleum engineering, chemical engineering, power engineering, transportation engineering, etc., possess the ability to engage in the design, construction, technical development, and organizational management of oil and gas storage and transportation facilities and distribution process systems, have good comprehensive quality, strong engineering practice ability and innovation ability.

The main courses offered in this major include Engineering Fluid Mechanics, Engineering Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer, Pumps and Compressors, Oil Depot Design and Management, Oil Pipeline Design and Management, Gas Pipeline Design and Management, Oil and Gas Gathering and Transportation, Urban Gas Transmission and Distribution, Oil Tank and Pipeline Strength Design.

Graduates of this major can work in oil and gas field enterprises, petrochemical enterprises, petroleum sales enterprises, urban gas companies, oil and gas pipeline engineering companies and other units and departments to engage in planning and design, project construction management, production and operation management, and technical research and development of oil and gas storage and transportation engineering. The average employment rate of graduates in the past five years is over 95%. The major has the qualification for recommending and exempting master's students, and the rate of students taking the postgraduate entrance examination is about 20%.
