Zhao Dongyuan is currently a professor of Chemistry at Fudan University, a doctoral supervisor, and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He used to be an associate professor in the Department of Fine Chemicals at our university. From 1993 to 1998, he was a visiting scholar at the Department of Chemistry at the University of Regina, Canada, the Department of Chemical Physics at the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel, the Department of Chemistry at the University of Houston, USA, and the Materials Research Laboratory at the University of California, Santa Barbara. He won the Feizen Postdoctoral Award from the Israel Weizmann Academy of Sciences, and the 1998 Best Postdoctoral Award from the American Chemical Society. At the end of 1998, he was employed by the Department of Chemistry of Fudan University and soon became the academic leader. He was responsible for the Outstanding Individuals and Key Funding projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the “863” and “973” projects of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and a number of research projects, such as key basic research projects initiated by Shanghai Science and Technology Committee. In 2005, as an academic leader, he won the National Natural Science Foundation Committee Innovation Research Group Fund, and cooperated with large domestic and foreign companies and research institutes to conduct research and product development and research.
