Department of Physical Education, in Shenyang University of Chemical Technology was founded in 2002，mainly responsible for the task of teaching P.E classes for all the students in the University, team competitions, training tasks and teaching tasks for the department of social physical education. Now there are thirty-four teachers, including two professors, eight associate professors, twenty-three lecturers, a teaching assistant. And the ratio of graduates among our teachers is up to 90%. We also have an international referee, two national referees，a national fitness instructor, and twenty-four national primary referees.
After-years of construction and development, now there is a comprehensive gymnasium of more than 5,000 spuare meters, a stadium for tennis and badminton of 4,500 square meters, and a standard field of track and field in the department of physical education. In addition, there are also several outdoor fields of basketball, volleyball and tennis, which has undertaken a lot of important sports games for our country, Liaoning province and Shenyang city.
Shenyang University of Chemical University won the award of National high level sports teams school in 2005. And in 2010, our high level sports team of volleyball went through the examine of Ministry of education. Today, our University takes in high performance athletes of volleyball, tennis and beach volleyball according to the requirements of the Ministry of education. Every representative team has been going abroad for many times to do academic exchanges, which obtained excellent results in a series-of major competitions of the national, provincial and Shenyang City. With the strength of showing the pride of the people belong to our school sports.
Social sports profession is set to meet the needs of regional economic development and social progress, in-order-to revitalize the old industrial base in Liaoning, reflecting the advanced education concept. Social sports professional talent training mode takes " multidisciplinary learning and training practical ability as one " as a purpose, bases on professional-sports-knowledge, sports economics, management theory and sports basic skills, to improve the cultivation of students' creative ability of management and strong fitness instruction ability, and paying attention to improve the practical ability and sense of innovation. We try to make our students to become talents-with-wide profession, high quality, strong ability, heavy moral and composite type.
In addition, with the efforts of all the leadership in the Department of Physical Education and the stuff, mass sports activities are in full flourish in the whole school, we successfully held the first Shenyang chemical University Sports Culture Festival in 2015. In addition to a large sports game once in a year, we have the events, activities in every month, attracting the school students and stuff to participate in actively, and promoting the development of sunshine sports movement.
Since the beginning of 2012, our school physical education department has always maintained close cooperative relationship with the department of PE in western Michigan University. The sports department has invited the international influential sports scholars and the PE institute person in charge many times to come to our school to carry on the academic exchange. On November 6, 2012, international Chinese sports and Health Association China Office of Liaoning was established in our school. PE department of our University and Michigan University PE department established joint training mode in September 2014. In December 2015, identified "3+2" ( three years' learning courses at home plus two years' learning courses in US ) Specific course arrangement accelerated degree of professional sports . And at the beginning of 2016, we intend to take the implementation of the new students in social sports.
Department of Physical Education firmly believes that with the guidance of scientific development and the support of the various departments of the school and the joint efforts of all the Department of Physical Education teaching and administrative staff, our Department of Physical Education will get better achievements in the future.
