Research and Practice of Optimizing College English Reading and Writing Teaching Based on Multimoda

The project result is based on the integrated application of multimodal (such as text, picture, animation, audio, video, etc.) to provide multi-content for English teaching, mobilize learners to use multiple senses, cultivate their sense of autonomy and cooperative learning, and maximize optimization. It aims to use resources to construct a three-dimensional teaching environment, promote multi-modal interaction between teachers and students, between students, and between man and machine, and attach importance to language input and output ability (such as reading various media and modal information) ,thus to improve the innovative teaching practice of English literacy and the multi-reading ability of learners. The specific research contents include: 1) Research and analysis of the defects and deficiencies of the existing college English reading and writing classroom teaching mode;2) Exploring the multi-modal integration and the use of teaching strategies in English teaching practice and creating a vivid language learning environment. 3) Innovative exploration for the setting of teaching objectives, organizational form, and teaching evaluation methods. 4) Create a variety of interactive communication methods and forms of language practice activities that highlight the status of cognitive subjects, and promote the learners’ autonomy and level.

Multi-modal teaching mode cultivating students’ multi-reading ability and comprehensive application ability is the development trend of college English teaching, and it is the realistic requirement for adapting the increasingly standardized and diversified language testing forms. Using the advantages of multi-modal integration to carry out teaching and presenting literacy teaching content in a variety of ways can stimulate students’ interest in learning, create a more convenient interactive communication environment, promote static communication to dynamic communication, improve language input and output capabilities,and enhance the teaching effect enhances the ability and level of teachers’ teaching and research.
