Introduction of 400,000 tons of magnesite transfer bed flash light burning project

China's magnesite resources have reached high grade and high magnesium content, providing high quality fire-resistant and flame-retardant raw materials in the world. 85% of domestic magnesite resources are concentrated in Liaoning. Our province has proven the reserve of magnesite at 2.58 billion tons, accounting for about 20% of the world's total reserves (about 12.6 billion tons). Liaoning has become the world's largest export base of magnesium raw materials, forming a magnesite specialty industry with an annual output value of 100 billion rmb.

The basic process of the magnesite industry is the preparation of active magnesium oxide (MgO) powder, also known as light burning powder, by calcining magnesite. China is still using the “reflex furnace” that was continuously used during the Second World War, where Liaoning currently owns 2000 units. However, given that the pollution is heavy, the efficiency is low, and it is not only difficult to enlarge, but it also wastes small particle raw materials, which seriously affects the sustainable development of the industry.

In order to effectively solve the problems of high energy consumption, high pollution and low level of equipment utilization caused by utilizing magnesite, Shenyang University of Chemical Technology developed a complete set of technology for "light burning of magnesite conveyor bed", using 100 micron powder raw materials, which is completed in high speed transportation, which reduced the reaction time of light burning of magnesite from several hours to about 2 seconds, the coal consumption per ton of product is reduced from 300 kg to 200 kg, the single processing capacity is increased to 200,000 tons/year, and over 95% of the dust pollution rate is reduced.

The magnesite transport bed light burning complete technology is evaluated at more than 70 million rmb of worth. And with social investment cooperation, in 2019, Shenyang University of Technology scientific and technological achievements industrialization company: Liaoning Long Magnesium Technology Co., Ltd. is established in Haicheng. After nearly two years of project development, engineering development and design, the company is about to begin the construction in 2019 to build the first demonstration project for processing 400,000 tons of magnesite in Haicheng, and it is expected to be finished by the end of 2019 so that the technology can be put into use before June 2020. With the operation, the annual output of high-activity light-burning powder will be more than 200,000 tons, forming an industrialized complete set of technology.

The new technology of magnesite transport bed light burning has the potential to promote 100 sets in Liao, to guide the province to reduce the light burning process by about 1 million tons of coal, reduce annual dust pollution by about 100,000 tons, and realize the effective utilization of a large amount of magnesite fine powder raw material which is difficult to be used by traditional technology to produce significant economic and environmental benefits and greatly promotes the sustainable development and upgrading development of Liaoning magnesite industry. The construction of Liaoning Long Magnesium Technology Co., Ltd. will be carried out in phases. In the first phase, it is planned to build 400,000 tons/year magnesite light burning project, supporting 300 million cubic meters of fluidized two-stage gasification unit. In the second phase,  it is estimated to build 600,000 tons of magnesite flotation, 100,000 tons of heavy-burned magnesia, 100,000 Tons of high-purity magnesia, 100,000 tons of light magnesia, 10,000 tons of special magnesia (silicon steel grade magnesia and electrical grade magnesia). The total land area of the project is about 100,000 square meters, and the total construction area is about 80,000 square meters. The total investment is about 500 million rmb, of which the first phase investment is 150 million rmb. After the project is completed and put into production, the annual profit and tax will be over 100 million rmb.
