SYUCT makes an active effort to realize self-directed innovation, vigorously promotes scientific research, and provides a strong technical and intellectual support to the development of chemical industry and the revitalization of the northeast old industrial base.
SYUCT has ever undertaken hundreds of national research projects, including the National Science and Technology Project, “863” Project, “973” Project, major projects from the Ministry of Science and Technology, and key projects of the National Natural Science Foundation and the National Social Science Foundation, and over a thousand provincial or ministerial and enterprise research projects. Meanwhile, SYUCT has acquired 17 “National Science and Technology Progress Award”, “National Invention Award”, “National Defense Science and Technology Award first prize”, etc., nearly 100 ministerial and provincial prizes of science and technology achievements, and over 1,100 authorized patents, a large number of which were promoted to application by large enterprises of Liaoning Province and outside and created prominent economic and social benefits.
In addition, research on intensification technology of chemical process is leading globally, and SYUCT has the irreplaceable advantage in successful developing systematic technology and meeting the demands of fostering high-level talents in this field. Taking full-time introduced “Taking-off Scholars” as leaders, SYUCT has successfully built five major peak disciplines which made herself reach international or domestic leading level in equipment reliability and vibration control, creation and application of green pesticide, chemical energy reduction and pollution control, graded conversion and utilization of carbon resources and other fields. SYUCT is sure to become an important engine for the construction of science and technology powering country and province.
