Delegations from Jinja, Uganda, visited our University

On November 7, Mutanda, Mayor of Jinja, Uganda together with three other leaders, and officials from Shenyang Foreign Affairs Office came to visit our university. Vice President Yuan Decheng met with the visiting party. Relevant personnel from both sides held a discussion in conference room 8. The two sides held talks on further cooperation and implementation of the cooperation agreement signed last year. Vice President Yuan Decheng, Director of International Exchange and Cooperation Department Ma Lina, Vice Director of School of International Education Wang Liang, Director of Admission Office of School of International Education Yang Bo and relevant departments attended the discussion.

Vice President Yuan Decheng delivered a welcome speech. He extended a warm welcome to the Ugandan delegation and thanked the Foreign Affairs office of Shenyang for its support and assistance in international exchanges and cooperation. He pointed out that our university has established a profound friendship with Uganda and the cooperative partnership between the two sides has been developing steadily. There are now students from Uganda studying in our school. He hopes more Ugandan students will come to our school in the future.

The Mayor ofJinja, Uganda thanked us for our warm welcome. He said that after several exchanges and discussions, the cooperation between the Jinja and SYUCT has shown initial results, especially in the establishment of the Sino-African College of Science and Technology of SYUCT. The Uganda side will take this as a starting point to further promote the construction of Sino-African College of Science and Technology. In addition, Mayor Mutanda extended a sincere invitation to our school to send a delegation to Uganda to participate in the International Dragon Boat Race to be held on June 21 next year. Then, Mr. Anthony, the Technical Director of Bsoga District and the Coordinator of theDepartment of Cooperation between Jinjia and Shenyang, explained in detail the plan of sending high-quality foreign students to our school.

Shenyang and Jinja, Uganda are sister cities, which has played a further role in promoting the in-depth cooperation between our university and the city of Jinja, Uganda.
