In order to comprehensively sort out and summarize all kinds of work and outstanding achievements in the 2019 summer vacation, and to plan the key work in the second half year of 2019, on the afternoon of August 26, the university’s academic report hall held a new semester work meeting.All school leaders and middle level cadres attended the meeting.The meeting was presided over by Vice President Yuan Decheng.
The main purpose of this meeting is to define the new situation and new tasks, seize the new opportunities, work together to overcome difficulties, forge ahead, and unify thoughts and actions into the construction and development of the university.
President Xu Guangwen, entitled “Inheriting excellence, establishing self-confidence, promoting quality development of SYUCT”, summarized the work of the 2019 summer vacation and made arrangements for the key work in the second half of 2019. President Xu stressed that the following 24 tasks should be carried out in the second half of 2019 under the guidance of the “new semester, new atmosphere and new actions” attitude. The university will carry out education on the theme of "keeping one's original aspiration and minding one's duty", and continue to put forward special rectification work on themed educational projects; promote the "benchmark and joint innovation" activity of party construction in colleges and universities in the new era; hold the art performancefor celebrating the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, the upcoming 35th teachers' day, and to welcome the university’s 2019 freshmen; implement the construction of clean government culture corridor work, etc.
Party Secretary Wang Qiang made a concluding speech, on how to carry out the new semester work. He put forward five suggestions: first, to do a good job in the new semester, unified thinking is the premise.Second, to do a good job in the new semester, theme education is an opportunity.Third, to do a good job in the new semester, tackling hard tasks is the key.Fourth, to do a good job in the new semester, reform and innovation is the means.Fifth, to do a good job in the new semester, the leading cadre takes the lead is the guarantee.
