"Dumplings for farewell, noodles for welcome" is a traditional custom in the Northeast. At 10:30, June 24, after the grand graduation ceremony, our university set six venues in different canteens, invited all 2019 graduates, teacher representatives, and parent representatives to attend the dumpling banquet.
The university leaders came to each venue to share the dumplings with the 3,200 honorable graduates who were about to start their new lives, enjoying this wonderful moment of their last meal at the university together. The banquet was filled with warm atmosphere. The graduates expressed their gratitude to both the alma mater and the teachers for their four years of training. The school leaders took selfies and photos with the graduates, signed on their shirts, and had warm conversations with the parents who came to the graduation ceremony and banquet.
Wang Qiang, the Party Secretary of the University talked with the graduates about the future development goals of the university, which aroused everyone’s expectation for the bright future of the university. For the future work and study of graduates, Secretary Wang shared many useful experiences and practices based on his own experiences and the deeds of excellent alumni. At the same time, he expressed his deep affection to SYUCT, saying that the alma mater is another home of alumni where the graduates are hoped to come and visit more often.
President Xu Guangwen said that the school has prepared a feast which not only contains a feeling of strong attachments, but it also presents the feeling of home to everyone. On the other hand, the word "Jiaozi" also encourages everyone to set sail again with a new attitude, to pursue a better, to make pride of both the university and the motherland. Meanwhile, President Xu also sent a sincere blessing to the graduates, wishing everyone all the best and a promising future!
The graduates’ grand banquets let the graduates who are about to leave feel the true care and warmth of their alma mater. Everyone said that they would like to thank the university for this thoughtful and gracious graduation banquet. They will always remember the taste of their home, SYUCT. The banquet also help solid their determination and confidence to bravely embark on a new journey to realize their own value.
