Recently, the Higher Education Teaching Evaluation Center of the Ministry of Education and China Engineering Education Professional Certification Association issued the Notice on the Acceptance of Engineering Education Certification Applications of 547 specialties including Mechanical Engineering of Jilin University etc. Applications of six majors of our university were accepted, such as Mechanical Design, Manufacturing and Automation, Pharmaceutical Engineering, Safety Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Automation, Polymer Materials and Engineering, and Inorganic Non-metallic Materials Engineering. The number of acceptance (first-time certification) ranked first among all universities in Liaoning Province.
The Academic Affairs Office has issued the “Circular on Promoting the Major Certification of Engineering Education in 2018”, and required that each major of application earnestly perform relevant work such as professional self-evaluation and on-site examinations basing on the “Engineering Education Certification Scheme” and “Engineering Education Certification Standard”. School will use this as an opportunity to continuously increase the intensity of engineering education reform, further strengthen the professional connotation construction, and deepen the certification concept of “students-centered”, “results-oriented”, “continuous improvement”. Through the optimization of the curriculum system, standardizing the teaching process, strict quality control, actively explore the deep-seated reform of the talent training system and mechanisms, and effectively improve the quality of engineering major construction and the quality of engineering talent training.
