Shenyang University of Chemical Technology Holds the Establishment Ceremony of the Institute of Adva

At 10:30 a.m. 25th October, the establishment ceremony of the Advanced Materials Research Institute between China and Spain and the ceremony of appointing Professor Wang Deyi as the scholar of revitalization were held at the 8thmeeting room of office building. Liu Enping, director of Liaoning Provincial Foreign Experts Bureau, Zhao Rigang, director of Shenyang Municipal Science and Technology Bureau, Bai Wei, Party Secretary of SYUCT, Yuan Decheng, Vice President of SYUCT, Sun Yang, director of the Department of Science and Technology of the Education Department of Liaoning Province, and Yu Hongyan, director of the International Cooperation Department of the Shenyang Municipal Bureau of Science and Technology attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Fang Qinghong, dean of the Material Science and Engineering School.

At the meeting, Dean Fang Qinghong first introduced the cooperation situation between Shenyang University of Chemical Technology and the Madrid Institute of Advanced Materials in Spain.

Prof. Wang Deyi introduced the development of the Madrid Institute of Advanced Materials, the research field and the idea of the team, as well as the cooperation and the results achieved with Shenyang enterprises in recent years. He said that as a Chinese, he shoulders the special mission of building a bridge between the Institute and Chinese universities and industries, and will also spare no effort to contribute his own strength to the cooperation between the two sides.

Director Zhao Rigang first expressed sincere congratulations on the establishment of the Institute of Advanced Materials between China and Spain. He pointed out that the development of universities should keep up with the pace of the times, and there must be international exchanges and cooperation. He highlighted the conference spirit and high-end talent introduction policy of the Shenyang Science and Technology Innovation Conference. At the same time, he hoped that the Institute of Advanced Materials between China and Spain will continue to grow and attract talents and scientific research projects, and looked forward to the cooperation between the two sides.

Director Liu Enping briefly introduced the situation of foreign experts recently introduced by Shenyang and stated that the cooperation between Shenyang University of Chemical Technology and the Madrid Institute of Advanced Studies has set a good example for universities and foreign experts in Liaoning province. The Provincial Foreign Experts Bureau will do its best to provide policy support and project service work, providing good environment and assistance for foreign experts and foreign talents in our province.

Party Secretary Bai Wei said that the establishment of the Institute of Advanced Materials between China and Spain was a great joy for the university. As a Chinese scientist, Professor Wang Deyi served as a team leader in the world's top research institute and competed for the glory of our people. Mr. Bai Wei stressed that the work of the Institute of Advanced Materials between China and Spain will fully link up with the policy requirements of the Liaoning Provincial Foreign Experts Bureau, the Provincial Department of Education, and the Shenyang Municipal Science and Technology Bureau to form a good scientific and technological cooperation paradigm to contribute to the provincial scientific and technological innovation, international exchange and cooperation, and social and economic development.

Professor Wang Deyi is currently the director of the High Performance Polymer Nanocomposite Research Center of the Madrid Institute of Advanced Materials, Spain, and a tenured professor. He is also project consultant expert of UNIDO, EU Marie Curie Scholar, Humboldt Scholar of Germany (AvH), Visiting Professor of the Polymer Processing Department of the Institute of Polymer Materials of Leibniz in Germany, Visiting Scholar of Bolton University in U.K. and Outstanding Young Scientist of EU.
