On October 24th, the establishment of the Federation of Social Sciences of SYUCT and the first congress of it were held in the Academic Reporting Hall of the administrative building. Vice Chairman Jin Hu, and Xi Jing, Director of Society Department of the Liaoning Provincial Federation of Social Sciences, Li Wenxiu, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of SYUCT, proposed committee members of the Federation of Social Sciences of SYUCT, and representatives from the relevant faculty, such as the School of Economics and Management, the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences, the Graduate School, the Department of Foreign Languages, the Department of Industrial and Art Design, and the Department of Physical Education and so on attended the conference. The conference was chaired by Zhang Zhan, Dean of the School of Economics and Management.
At the meeting, Xi Jing read the “The Approval for the Establishment of the Federation of Social Sciences of SYUCT”.

Vice Chairman Jin Hu made a speech. He first congratulated the establishment of the Federation of Social Sciences of SYUCT. He pointed out that while Shenyang University of Chemical Technology plays a major role in the teaching and research of chemical industry, it also pays attention to strengthening social science research and serving the needs of society, and has made considerable progress. Provincial Social Science Federation and SYUCT jointly carried out many activities, such as holding the Liaohai sub-forum of Shenyang University of Chemical Technology, forming a very good cooperative relationship, and produced a very good social response. The establishment of the Federation of Social Sciences of SYUCT, not only provided a new and important platform for university's own discipline construction and social sciences talent training, but also provided a smoother channel for further deepening the cooperation with the Provincial Social Science Federation and related parties.
At the meeting, the “Constitution of the Federation of Social Sciences of SYUCT (Draft)” was reviewed and passed, and the first committee members and leading body were elected. Li Wenxiu, deputy secretary of the party committee of SYUCT, was elected chairman of the Federation of Social Sciences of the school.
Li Wenxiu made a speech. He expressed warm congratulations to the establishment of the federation on behalf of the school party and government and all teachers and students. He pointed out that the federation is the family of teachers of the philosophy and social sciences of our university. There are many types of philosophical and social science disciplines within the school. All kinds of talents gather and all kinds of ideas converge. We must make every effort to make a fuss over the word “lian”, work hard on the word “he”, and vigorously promote the cross-convergence and collaborative innovation of engineering, science, management, economics, literature, law, and medical sciences, and strive to bring together the various forces of the philosophy and social science disciplines within the school, to dig out the potentials in all fields to form the unique direction of philosophical and social science research with the characteristics of SYUCT, scientific research advantages, and unique advantages in serving the development of Liaoning old industrial base, and continuously produce and widely apply distinctive landmark results.
