Recently, Shenyang • China Robot Competition and Robot Exhibition were held in Shenyang International Convention and Exhibition Center. More than 20 teams from colleges and enterprises in Shenyang participated in the smart car competition and service robot design competition.
Our university organized the relevant teachers and students to actively register and prepare for competition from the beginning of July. In “Smart Car Competition”, our university composed of three teams, and the instructors was Zhang Zhansheng from Information Engineering College; In “Service Robot Design Competition”, there were a total of seven works from our university, which are instructed Hou Zhe and Liu Yang from the Department of Industry and Art Design.
After fierce competition, our university team won the championship of upright group, the runner-up of four-wheel group of the “Smart Car Competition”. All three teams have won the first prize. Competition Organizing Committee set up 2 first prizes, 4 second prizes, and 6 third prizes for the “Service Robot Design Competition”. Our university entries swept 2 first prizes, won 3 second prizes, and 2 third prizes. Zhang Zhansheng, Hou Zhe, and Liu Yang got the excellent instructor award, and SYUCT gained the outstanding organization award.
The Live performance of Robot Competition lighted the enthusiasm of audience. In order to enhance the appeal of the scene, after the competition, our teams were invited to tour perform at the scene, which attracted rounds of audience. Liu Qiang, Vice Governor of Liaoning Province; Jiang Youwei, Mayor of Shenyang; Ma Zhanchun, Executive Vice Mayor of Shenyang etc. came to the scene to visit and observe, and cordially talked with the students of our university. During the presentation, our students explained the audience the knowledge of the technical principles of smart car and the knowledge of robot exterior design. After robot design competition, Doctor Di Pei, Advanced Robot Technology Laboratory Director of Central Research Institute, Xin Song Robot Automation Co., Ltd, had a discussion with Hou Zhe, and Liu Yang on the aspects of personnel training in order mode, internship base, exterior design of service-oriented robot, UI design and the initial intention of cooperation.
